Our blades are finally in! They’re made out of AR500 and were provided to us by our generous sponsor Clifton Steel.

They weight a minimum of 50lb and go up to 80lb. Naturally, moving them around sucks.

The flame-cut blades are reasonably accurate, but the tolerances aren’t nearly good enough for our bearing bores. So began the most painful HASS facing operation imaginable.

A clever indexing strategy let us line up our bearing bores accurately enough to avoid an overcontraint.

Our final battlebot is a spinning hunk of metal on a chair. Tombstone, watch your back.
